Rescue crews responding to the road between Horseshoe Pike (Route 322) and Lippitt Road around 12:14 p.m., removed both doors on the driver's side of a car to free a trapped driver, according to East Brandywine Fire Company.
Crews took approximately 25 minutes to free the driver, authorities said.
The driver was taken by EMS to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The road was closed for nearly five hours while authorities investigated the scene and reopened at approximately 5:40 p.m.
